COUNTY DISASTER DECLARATION

Karen Sanders (Chaves County Emergency Manager) informs HFSM officials that she has issued a disaster declaration in response to the oil spill incident on the Pecos River, citing public health concerns, severe environmental damages, potential groundwater contamination, road closures, and fuel shortages. Ms. Sanders indicates this determination was made to facilitate the prompt mobilization and deployment of State resources, along with the provision of financial aid relating to spill cleanup, environmental protection, and other costs. This is a Drill!
